I haven’t introduced our tea set yet. We were in the market for a teapot after I broke the lid of our old teapot. That thing lasted about 5 years, which is longer than most of the fragile things that come into regular contact with me, so I’m grateful for its service (especially considering we got it for like $18 on clearance at Crate & Barrel).
But let’s not dwell on the past here; I was introducing the new teaset! We got this teapot plus creamer and sugar bowl last Thanksgiving when we were in Goshen, Indiana, at a cool boutique for vintage and imported goods called Found. The design is Stonehenge “Midwinter Sun,” vintage early 1970s (here’s a fun little blog post about it).
I have to limit myself to googling this stuff because every time I do, I spend [undisclosed amount of time] perusing all the pieces I think we need (hint hint. my birthday is only 6 months away). We’ve used the teapot regularly all winter, and the creamer comes in handy once in awhile for gravy or salad dressing, as I’m pretty sure I’ve never actually served cream to guests out of anything but the carton I bought it in.
Last week while watching The Avengers for the fourteenth or so time, I sat down with some of my worsted weight wool yarn and whipped up a matching cozy for the beloved teapot. The next morning, I just threw the thing in with a load of laundry to shrink it down to size, and it worked like a charm!
